Face coverings are a personal choice when traveling on board.
Ventilation & Cleaning
We continue to ensure that all windows are left open for additional ventilation in addition to our enhanced cleaning regime which will remain in place to keep you and others around you safe.
Paying for your journey
Where possible avoid the use of cash and continue to use contactless on board or buy in advance using our mobile app.

Get to the zoo by bus! Marwell M1 service to return from 9 April
Our popular M1 service from Southampton city centre to Marwell Zoo returns on 9 April 2022, and is a great day out for all of the family.

Coxford Road road works and City Red 3 diversion from Wednesday 5 January 2022
Please note that Coxford Road between Lyburn Court and the junction with Lordshill Way will be closed for road works from Wednesday 5 January 2022.
This closure is in one direction only towards Lordshill Centre and will last for up to 21 weeks.
City Red 3 buses towards Lordshill Centre will be diverted Winchester Road, Warren Avenue, Tremona Road, Coxford Road, Olive Road, Aldermoor Road, Lordshill Centre West and Lordshill Centre East for the duration of the road works
In the opposite direction, City Red 3 buses will operate the normal route from Lordshill Centre towards the city centre. Customers that wish to go to Lordshill Way or Lyburn Court can stay on the bus and get off near their destination.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to your journey with us for the duration of the road works.

Before you travel
- Use the First Bus App to journey plan and buy your ticket
- Use our Space Checker tool to find when your bus is less busy
- Bring hand sanitiser
- We encourage our customers to download the NHS COVID19 App
At the bus stop
- Use the First Bus App to track where your bus is and the number of free seats available
- When your bus arrives, please allow space for passengers to leave the bus before you step onboard
- Get you payment method ready – mTicket on the First Bus App , contactless card, concessionary pass or the exact change
On board
- We encourage customers to make cashless payments to avoid cash handling
- Our windows need to remain open to maintain airflow
- We have increased our cleaning regime, but please help by not eating or drinking on board and remove any rubbish when you leave
